Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them at any time.

Template notice: this document is a professionally worded placeholder provided as a starting point. It is not legal advice and must be reviewed and adapted by qualified legal counsel before you rely on it in production.

Effective date: 1 January 2026

01What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how their site is used. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and software development kits; in this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies".

02How we use cookies

We use cookies to keep the website secure and functioning, to remember choices you make (such as your cookie preferences), and to understand which content is useful so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site cannot operate without them. All other categories are set only after you accept them through our cookie banner.

03Categories of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary — enable core functionality such as page navigation, security, load balancing and remembering your consent choice. Typical duration: session to 12 months. These cannot be switched off.
  • Preference — remember settings such as region or display options so you don't have to re-enter them. Typical duration: up to 12 months.
  • Analytics and performance — help us understand page views, navigation paths and which content is valuable, in aggregate. Typical duration: up to 26 months.
  • Marketing and attribution — measure the effectiveness of campaigns and understand which channels lead to enquiries. Typical duration: up to 13 months. Only set with your consent.

04Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties that provide services to us, such as analytics providers, content delivery networks and embedded media. These providers may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. Where a third-party cookie is not strictly necessary, it is only set after you consent. We keep the number of third parties on this site deliberately small.

05Managing your preferences

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • Use the cookie banner shown on your first visit to accept or decline non-essential cookies.
  • Clear your browser's site data for this domain to reset your choice; the banner will appear again on your next visit.
  • Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers explain how under Settings, Preferences or Privacy.
  • Use browser-level signals such as Global Privacy Control, which we honour where it is legally recognised.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the site to function incorrectly.

06Do Not Track and consent records

There is no consistent industry standard for responding to "Do Not Track" browser signals, so we do not currently respond to them. We do keep a record of the consent choice you make through our banner — including the choice, the date and the policy version — so that we can demonstrate compliance and apply your preference consistently.

07Changes to this policy and contact

We review this Cookie Policy periodically and will update it when our use of cookies changes. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where required, we will ask for your consent again. For questions about this policy, or to request the current detailed cookie inventory, email hello@stackwiseconsulting.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
